ABOUT GERARD

1.   Why not work up to Congress?  Say run for City Council and then Mayor then maybe Congress?
2.   Why did you decide to run for Congress?

1.   Why not work up to Congress?  Say run for City Council and then Mayor then maybe Congress?

Because that is the problem with politics in this country today.  It is a career!  We have career politicans running this Nation.  They plan every move they make based on how it will be percieved in the polls and the voting booths back home.

Our founding fathers had jobs and careers outside of government.  They planned to go back to those jobs and those careers.  They never intended to make holding public office a career, but we have people in office today, from both sides of the aisle, that have never had a real job.  I'm sorry but if they have never had a real job, never had to worry about their Social InSecurity, never had to worry about healthcare, never had to worry about jobs being outsourced?  How are they able to represent me?  They can't!  But who they can represent are the Special Interest Groups that got them elected in the first place.  The ones that contribute to their campaigns, the ones that lobby on the hill.

Career politicians have lost sight of the most important speical interest, you and me and our children and they don't think beyond the next election cycle.  We need people in office that have a vision, not just for today but also for tomorrow.

Insanity is doing the same things over and over again expecting different results.  We need to realize electing career politicians is insane and we need to get back to Representation for the people by the people.

2.   Why did you decide to run for Congress?

Because I am concerned about the future for my children, my children's children and their children.  And I am tired of hoping and praying that the men and women we are electing are going to do the right thing.  They aren't and I am concerned that if we don't have representation for the people by the people very soon it may be to late and we will loose our way of life.  And the pursuit of the American Dream will be a memory that future generations will just dream about and not be able to realize.
