ENDORSE

This afternoon, the Tennessee Republican Assembly unanimously endorsed Gerard Donovan as its choice for the US House race for Tennessee's 5th District.

Owen Morrell, President of the TRA, and the rest of the TRA members expressed their congratulations to Gerard and the other candidates who received the TRA endorsement.

 

ABOUT GERARD

Gerard is a Mt. Juliet, TN businessman running for the US House of Representatives from the 5th District in Tennessee. Located near the center of the state, the TN 5th represents parts of Wilson, Davidson and Cheatham counties.

Born 5/31/56 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada Gerard "legally" immigrated to the United States with his family in the late 1960's. He served in the United States Marine Corps from February, 1974 until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant (E-5) in February, 1978.

Gerard's passions are his Faith, his Family, and the American Dream. Married to his best friend Marti for 15 years, he has three wonderful children - Peggy, "Wish" and John.

He and his family are members of Joy Church International (www.joychurchinternational.org) on Charlie Daniels Parkway in Mt. Juliet

Gerard's life embodies much of the American Dream and he is deeply grateful for the benefits he has received from the American way of life. As such, he is running so he might pay back those who believed in and supported him and pay forward those future generations so they might enjoy the life he has.

Gerard is a naturalized citizen. Plainly put, he is American by choice! Although he dropped out of high school at age 16 - and joined the Marine Corps at age 17 - he went to night school and earned his High School diploma while serving his country. After leaving active duty status with the USMC in 1978 he began pursuing his college education. Working full time and parenting two children, he nonetheless earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

He has worked as a car wash attendant, janitor for a Salvation Army, laborer in a Steel Mill and as a manager in an electronics company. For the last 10 years he has owned his own company, Quality Practitioners, Inc serving as President.

Gerard founded Quality Practitioners, Inc.(http://www.eqpi.com) in 1997. eQPI is a training and consulting firm specializing in manufacturing efficiency through the use of continual improvement tools and techniques. Gerard has traveled extensively throughout North America, Asia and the Sub-continent evaluating manufacturing businesses' ability to meet International Standards for Quality and Environmental Management. He has over 20 years experience in Manufacturing, Quality and Environmental Control and has developed training and consultation services acclaimed as the most thorough and comprehensive available in the United States. As such, he is responsible for assisting hundreds of companies in meeting International Standards and for helping them compete more effectively in a global economy.
