Nearly Half a Million Raised From More Than 3,000 Donors Overall

MERIDEN, CT – Democratic candidate for the 5th congressional district seat Chris Donovan announced today that he raised more than $250,000 in the third quarter of 2011. In roughly four months of fundraising, Donovan has raised nearly $500,000 from more than 3,000 individual donors.

In the third quarter, Donovan displayed the grassroots enthusiasm of his campaign by collecting donations from nearly 2,500 individual donors. With an average individual donation of just $75, Donovan’s campaign is powered by small-dollar grassroots donors. More than 75% of the money raised this quarter was raised from people in Connecticut.

“Chris’ message is resonating with Connecticut families and they have responded by taking ownership in the campaign and once again expressing strong support,” said Donovan campaign manager Joshua Nassi. “Chris is gathering the support he needs to win the primary and the general election, and he is excited by the support his campaign is generating among the families of Connecticut. Today’s donors are tomorrow’s volunteers, influencers, and voters. The broad support Chris has received throughout the district shows that he is the best candidate to ensure the 5th district seat remains in the Democratic column.”
